CABBAGE (E) 04:17
He sits in absolute silence, a quiet defiance inside And though he flips the switch, it's not his fault the sun shines And with all that he's done, there's no room left for him to die How far can you run when you've killed your alibi? And he's just a statistic, the Lighthouse Major Must be nice… must be nice Must be nice to be the Lighthouse Major He's known for miles around but never for his face And not a soul would know if somebody took his place He can see the world from his tower on the shore But he won't be content till he's seen the stars once more But he's just a statistic, the Lighthouse Major Must be nice… must be nice Must be nice to be the Lighthouse Major He could see behind the sun, feel the world turn as he runs He could count every star at night, if he could just turn off that light He used to be someone and he'd like to be again He doesn't realize how unimportant he was then If he'd only see all the great things he has done He wouldn't cry at night and he would not have that gun (That's called foreshadowing!) Now he's just a statistic, the Lighthouse Major Must be nice… must be nice Must be nice to be the Lighthouse Major When the gun went off that night, he thought he'd done what was right But all he did in the end was to kill his only friend Now he's finally in the dark, now the Major counts the stars Must be nice… must be nice Must be nice to be the Lighthouse Major Must be nice… must be nice Must be nice to be the Lighthouse Major

Teary eyes search the sky of blue For a friend I thought I knew It's not a story you hear every day But I guess it had to happen that way The Man they call Parachute Willy Will always be William to me I guess everybody changes And we all wear so many faces As evening falls his time has come He has to prove he's the greatest one I could never let my good friend down He looked so handsome floating under his silk crown The Man they call Parachute Willy Was always William to me I guess everybody changes And we all wear so many faces Can you imagine that heights were once his fear? He wouldn't climb a tree or ladder for eighteen years But something happened on that January night William left this world and Parachute Willy stepped into the spotlight (break) So happy eyes will search the sky For a man whom I no longer know but who will never die So long William, although you were a friend to me It's Parachute Willy the world will recognize and see So good-bye Parachute Willy You were always a friend to me And while everybody changes You've worn so many faces The Man they call Parachute Willy Will always be William to me I guess everybody changes Have I stayed the same? I'm not to blame--no-one stays the same

Hey Banzai! 03:34
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey Banzai, what have you done? You've lost all you thought you'd won More than every day but not quite always Hey Banzai, look me in the eye Or have you come too far to cry? Follow in their footsteps long before they've dared to lay them down Hey Banzai, you can still turn it around The shine on his shoes tells a story; he didn't want it this way He thinks he's over the limit, he thinks what's here's here to stay And they said "Don't look back!" As he shoots from the dark "Don't look down!" As he falls from the sky "Don't give up!" Cries a voice in the night "Don't look back!" As he shoots, for to die Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey Banzai, what have you done? You've lost all you thought you'd won More than every day but not quite always Hey Banzai, look me in the eye Or have you come too far to cry? Follow in their footsteps long before they've dared to lay them down Hey Banzai, you can still turn it around The sweat on his brow tells a story; he hadn't planned it that way He thought he'd change the world with all the clever things he'd say But they said "Don't look back!" But it's all he could do "Don't look down!" As he fell from his sky "Don't give up!" But I can't make it right "Don't look back--" Yeah, you know you don't want to die You know you don't want to die, You know you don't want to die Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey Banzai, look at what you've done You've given up all that you'd won Not just for me but for all of us, always Hey Banzai, look me in the eye Look what you've done, you've made me cry You followed in footsteps all your friends were too scared to ever lay down Hey Banzai, you finally turned it around Thank you Banzai, a hero turned it around

Do you remember when we met the Mullberry Crew? They tried to tell us things we thought we already knew But I have seen the brighter days And Lightning Jack has more to say Lightning Jack and the Mullberry Crew say no-one alive will see How to make your life better, now see your life better with me Do you recall the stories Old LJ used to tell? He used to claim to know the Mullberry Crew quite well But Lightning Jack's been known to lie And something deeper is held inside Lightning Jack and the Mullberry Crew say no-one alive will see How to make your life better, now see your life better with me Could it be that maybe he's not just a senile old man? As he runs through his mind screaming "Catch me if you can!" He's all that's left of that old crew In the end was there anything more anyone could do? Lightning Jack and the Mullberry Crew say no-one alive will see How to make your life better, now see your life better with me See your life better with me, yeah Oh don't you see your life better with me Yeah....

Other named instruments used: Bruce (1920s Regal Tenor Guitar), Al (Kansas Mandolin), and of course, The Box™ (an old wooden box that looks like it could have held an Enigma machine).

about

earth immigrant California

From 1979-1999, Pluto's eccentric orbit placed it closer to the sun than Neptune. Therefore, earth immigrant (b.1980, Zigian Air Fields, Neptune) indeed comes from the farthest planet in our system. I hate to think we Neptunians are so petty, but support for planetary demotion of Pluto was very high on the blue giant, and I can’t help but think it’s because we like being far out - the farthest! ... more
